Jason Gray and Andrew Peterson - The Storytellers Tour

March 3, 2013

Nationally-acclaimed Christian recording artists Jason Gray and Andrew Peterson appeared live at Williamsburg Community Chapel on Sunday night March 3, 2013  as part of "The Storytellers Tour." The event drew a sellout crowd in excess of 1,400 attendees.

The  event was preceded by an optional Barbecue Dinner  catered by the Chapel's Community Cafe ministry.  Over 300 persons were served in this sold out  dinner event.

The format of the concert was a very intimate and informal evening, with each of the artists performing their songs acoustically while discussing the story behind the songs. It is a format very similar to that seen on MTV's highly successful "Unplugged" television series.

The King's Brass

August 2, 2013

Williamsburg Community Chapel favorites "The King's Brass" performed a rousing concert on Friday night, August 2, 2013 as part of the Chapel's "Summer Nights" family series.  The event, which drew approximately 800 people, was free and open to the public.

Now in their thirty-fifth year of music ministry, The King's Brass have performed over one hundred concerts each season with three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, keyboards, and percussion.   Playing a wide variety of music from Gabrieli to hymn classics, from Handel to jazz spirituals, from Christmas carols to patriotic marches, The King's Brass used all corners of the Chapel's main worship room - including the balcony and lighting lofts -  to lift hearts and spirits in praise.

The Chapel's NICA Initiative Presents: REILLY

October 13, 2013

On Sunday night, October 13, 2013 nearly 600 people got to rock out with the band Reilly at the Chapel. Hailing from Philadelphia, Reilly delivered a high energy, family-friendly show full of alt-rock anthems, jamming double violins, Christ-exalting lyrics, and even a cool drum solo.  It was great to see the concert be an avenue for intergenerational community as well. Children danced by their parents’ sides, students practiced synchronized head banging to the beats, and adults of all ages engaged with the music whether they sat or stood.

The event was sponsored by The Chapel’s NICA Initiative, which challenged the audience to participate in the One Meal campaign. $15 a month pays for a child to get a high quality meal Monday – Friday each week at the Chapel’s Feeding Center in Leon, Nicaragua. Many people responded and over 70 Nicaraguan children were impacted by having meals sponsored for them.
