Internationally renown Christian recording artists "downhere" performed at the Williamsburg Community Chapel on Sunday night October 14, 2012  The event was among the final tour stops on the band's "Living the Dream Farewell Tour."  The event drew over 1,000 people.

 

Downhere is a multiple award winning Christian melodic alt-rock band from Canada. The band has released six albums to date, with the most recent "On The Altar of Love" featuring the hit radio singles "Let Me Rediscover You" and "Living The Dream."  As with other bands such as Fleetwood Mac and Vertical Horizon, Downhere has two lead singers: Marc Martel and Jason Germain, who were college roommates at Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Saskatchewan.  Martel and Germain added fellow Canadians Jeremy Thiessen (drums) and bassist Glenn Lavender to the mix and released their debut international release through Word Records in 2001.  Of local interest, Lavender was recently named Director of Worship Arts for the Williamsburg Community Chapel.
